I agree with the letter - I always recall my first visit to St Albans by train...and seeing the Abbey from the distance... It has always remained for me a magical experience and should be fought for at all costs. It&#039;s akin to the view of Ely cathedral rising out of  the Fens...would they vandalise that view in the same way?  The bureaucratic policy-driven tick-box mentality which allows Government, Highways and other agencies to destroy our visual amenity beggars belief.</description>
