St Albans rail commuters endured yet another wretched Monday morning journey to work yesterday morning as overhead wire problems stopped trains running through London. I don’t remember snow days when I was at school though I guess they must have happened. I do recall the brilliant winter of 1963, the ice not melting off the inside our non centrally-heated bedroom, sledging in the fields at the bottom of the lane, skid-pan cycling etc etc.
