What a blissful Easter Day:
Though getting up at 5.30 am for a sunrise service in church was a bit keen. But a lovely service moving from the sunrise bonfire in the churchyard to candle-lit communion in the chancel.
Then running round the garden in the dew with the cawing of rooks for
company – hiding Easter eggs for the annual ritual of the children
finding the difficult ones and totally failing to see the obvious
ones… But I did no better myself solving Francesca’s cryptic clues
to find my own easter bunny – “Metal dirigible” for a Led Zeppelin
album sleeve where the next clue was to be found.
Picnic lunch on the lawn. Then a long stint in the garden in common with every other middle-aged couple in the land.
A break giving a driving lesson to oldest son whose test is in ten days (watch out for the green Peugeot).
Finally roast lamb and allotment vegetables followed by rhubarb crumble and custard.
And the sun shone throughout.
Bliss.
