Rainforest without Air Miles

February 16th, 2007 · No Comments · Sandy's blog

How do you visit a rainforest for half-term (with genuine torrential rain) and do it without mashing the environment with air miles? See my earlier thoughts on carbon footprint!

Answer: drive to see aged parent and brother in Devon and then go to the Eden Project.  Eden is stunning – not least because of the spectacular architecture but also because of the overall attention to detail in terms of design, materials, food, staff courtesy – the list is endless.

Just as well that it was open since virtually everything else in Devon and Cornwall is closed till March. If the Government and tourist organisations want us to holiday in the UK, they ought to work out when half-term happens and open for business!

But I can’t really whinge given the quality of today’s Eden Project experience!
